Location: Rainham Road (just off Ford Lane), Romford, Essex, Greater London, RM13

Designed to ride like a continuous loop though a collection of choice skatespots across the world's cities, Rainham skateplaza works a dream streetscape into the footprint of a community skatepark. Ideas developed out at Stockwell and Uckfield skateparks are progressed further here, producing a park that lets a skater feel like they are riding through their favourite skate video part.

The park goes well beyond the sum of it's parts. Big banked hips, a super-wide mini-ramp and other classic park elements are combined with highway barriers, split-level planted gaps and other cityscape features; a secondary skatepath completes the circuit. Mini-circuits exist within the park allowing riders to focus on one or two obstacles at busy times, easily taking an alternative line across to other obstacles to keep fresh. Creating a constant flow around the park where skaters will travel at a variety of speeds, matched to a variety of technical or more substantial obstacles, allows the park to be ridden by users at different age and skill levels at the same time and to give it a continuously engaging variety.
